Lorraine Tighe has worked in IT transformation for over 20 years, across banking, shipping and logistics, and government sectors here and in Ireland.
She moved into the smart city space in 2012 where she worked with City of Melbourne’s CIO to build Melbourne’s smart city foundations. Lorraine led a number of strategic initiatives to enhance Melbourne’s reputation as a smart city, including open data, city Wi-Fi, IoT trials and the IBM Smarter Cities Challenge.

Lorraine is now assisting other councils with their ‘smart’ approaches and capability. She believes in sharing her knowledge and experience and promoting diversity in tech. She has been on judging panels for many emerging tech and innovation events and asked regularly to share her experience and insights as a keynote speaker and panelist.
Lorraine holds a Higher Diploma in Systems Analysis, a Bachelor of Business, and has studied Strategic Foresight and Innovation Management through Swinburne executive education.
