As Director of Agriculture Industry Development for Agriculture Victoria, Megan Higson is responsible for leading the Victorian Government’s $27 million investment in accelerating the adoption of digital technologies on farm. This includes the $12 million Internet of Things trial across four sites covering dairy, livestock, orchard and broadacre cropping farms. With over thirteen years experience advising governments in New Zealand and Australia on agricultural issues, Megan Higson is an experienced policy leader with a track record of delivering significant, industry development projects. Projects include developing Victoria’s medicinal cannabis industry and the Victorian Government’s $30 million agriculture energy investment plan to improve energy efficiency and productivity on-farm.
